Customers Rank Best Hospitals in US Poorly

Our survey shows that magazine’s best hospitals in US aren’t well reviewed by people who use them

A study conducted by Vanguard Communications shined light on the necessity for nonmedical aspects of hospital service, such as telephone trees, wait times and billing. By compiling data from 2,700 online ratings of reputable hospitals featured in U.S. News & World Report’s annual ranking, the study revealed that two-thirds of these ratings on Yelp.com are negative, primarily because of communication and administrative issues.

This study was recently featured on two different online sources: The Intelligencer and Healthcare Dive, both of which used the information provided by Vanguard to comment on the need for more patience, timeliness and attentiveness when seeing a doctor.
